4 March 2024 — Honorary Consul of the Philippine Consulate Queensland, Atty. Sheryll Gabutero, was honoured to attend the Australia-Philippines National Development Partnerships Briefing and Networking Mixer at Savoy Hotel, Melbourne.
This significant gathering served as a lead-up to the ASEAN summit and brought together key figures from both nations. Among the distinguished attendees were Undersecretary Antonilo Mauricio, General Manager of National Development Company, Her Excellency Hae Kyong (HK) Yu, Australian Ambassador to the Philippines, Rafael Toda, President of the Australian Philippine Business Council (APBC), and Atty. Dennis Quintero, Chairman of the Philippines Australia Business Council (PABC).
Multiple memorandums of understanding were signed between government and private sector entities, highlighting the commitment to strengthen bilateral ties and foster collaboration. Noteworthy partnerships include the South East Asian Biosecurity Institute’s collaboration with Murdoch University, as well as agreements with Cyclion, DysruptIT, Iridium Private, Investible, and Lamudi, among others. These initiatives underscore the shared commitment to economic development and innovation between Australia and the Philippines.
