NBI Clearance

The consulate only assists with fingerprinting and notarizing the NBI Form No. 5, but once notarized, the applicant must mail the completed form to NBI in Manila for further processing and issuance of the clearance.

For all notarized NBI forms from overseas (including those processed at the Philippine Consulate in Brisbane), these must be sent only to the NBI Manila Mailed Clearance Section for the processing of the actual NBI clearance.

NBI Clearance Application

BRING THE REQUIRED DOCUMENTS ON YOUR APPOINTMENT, OTHERWISE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE PROCESSED:
  1. PERSONAL APPEARANCE OF THE APPLICANT IS A MUST.​
  2. ORIGINAL AND PHOTOCOPIES OF VALID IDENTIFICATIONS. Bring 2 Primary OR 1 Primary and 2 Secondary IDS; digital and expired IDs are not accepted.
  • PRIMARY: Birth Certificate, Passport, Driver Licence, Certificate of Australian Citizenship
  • SECONDARY: All other valid Queensland and Philippine Government Issued IDs (Medicare Card, Photo Identification, Senior’s Card, SSS, PhilHealth, PRC, Voter’s ID)

  3. ADDITIONAL SUPPORTING DOCUMENT FOR WOMEN: If change of status and name   from maiden to married name, kindly provide one of the following: Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Marriage Certificate or Notarised/JP’ed Report of Marriage form.

  4. ID PHOTOS. Two (2) pieces recent passport-sized ID Photos in white background.

  5. PROCESSING FEE. Non-refundable visa fee of $45.00 AUD in cash only.

  6. PROCESSING TIME. 15 minutes

 

Can’t travel to Brisbane? 

Those in QLD but far from Brisbane may apply by mail.  Those from other states, please check our CONTACT page for the contact of the other missions/consulates.

  1. Request an NBI Fingerprinting form from the Consulate, and send the Consulate an AUSPOST self addressed stamped envelope.
  2. Go to the nearest Police station to have your fingerprint taken.
  3. Send the accomplished NBI form to the Consulate with a processing fee of $45 in cash and self addressed stamped envelope.
  4. The Consular officer will sign the NBI form and will be mailed back to the applicant.
  5. Send the NBI fingerprinted form to NBI Manila.

 

How to send the NBI Fingerprinted form to Manila

After receipt of your document from the Philippine Consulate General, send the NBI requirements to:

NBI requirements:

  1. NBI Fingerprint Card Form No. 5 duly accomplished and signed by the Philippine Consulate General;
  2. Authorization letter to a representative in the Philippines to process the NBI clearance in Manila.
  3. Photocopy of Philippine passport, and
  4. Money Order in the sum of Php 200.00, Philippine currency, or bank draft which is negotiable in the Philippines payable to the Director, National Bureau of Investigation, Taft Avenue, Ermita 1000 Manila, Philippines.


NBI Manila will mail corresponding clearance certificate after it has processed the application papers.

Processing of application normally takes a maximum of five (5) days excluding days of transit.

You may also send your accomplished form and other requirements to your relative/representative in the Philippines together with authorization letter authorizing him/her to transact business on your behalf. Your relative/representative may visit the office of the Electronic Data Processing Division (EDPD) in NBI Taft Avenue, Manila for further assistance.

Upon receipt of your clearance certificate, please examine it for the presence of the embossed NBI DRY SEAL at its lower left portion; the clearance is invalid without it. You must also affix your clear and properly taken THUMBPRINT on the space provided on the clearance certificate with the assistance of the local police in your area before submitting it to your end-user.

How to renew NBI Clearance issued from 2014

For applicants who have previously issued NBI clearances from 2014 to present, they can now renew their NBI clearance without the need of accomplishing a new NBI fingerprint card form No. 5 provided that there are no changes made on personal data (name, place or date of birth).  Any change in personal data is considered a new application.

NBI requirements:

  1. Old NBI Clearance issued from 2014 onwards
  2. One of the following letters:
    • F SENDING DIRECTLY TO THE MANILA OFFICE: A letter to request that our NBI clearance be sent back to you here in Australia containing your contact details; home address, email address and phone number. I
    • IF SENDING DIRECTLY TO A REPRESENTATIVE: An authorization letter for a representative in the Philippines to process and receive the NBI clearance in Manila on your behalf.
  3. Photocopy of Philippine passport, and
  4. 2×2 photo full front view/white background
  5. Two Hundred Pesos (Php 200.00) Philippine currency, or bank draft which is negotiable in the Philippines payable to the Director, National Bureau of Investigation, Taft Avenue, Ermita 1000 Manila, Philippines.

Service Description

Application for NBI Clearance Form No. 5 is strictly by appointment, walk-ins are not allowed.

On your appointment day, please come on time and bring/present the following requirements:

1. Two-three (2-3) physical forms (not photocopies, nor electronic forms) of VALID GOVERNMENT IDs (2 primary / 1 primary and 2 secondary) that would meet the 100 points ID requirement;

Primary:

– Passport (dual citizens are advised to bring Philippine passport)
– Birth Certificate
– Citizenship Certificate/Card

Secondary:
– Driver Licence
– Senior Card
– Medicare Card
– Other Queensland/Philippine Government
-Issued IDs

NOTE: The government IDs must be valid and must support the claim of citizenship on the document. Photocopying of IDs are available for $2.

2. Two (2) pieces of recent 2×2 or Passport Size ID Photo, full front view in White background;

3. Processing fee of $45.00 AUD, cash only; At the Consulate office, NBI Clearance Form No. 5 will be provided, fingerprinting will be assisted by consular honorary staff, and must be filled out with complete information.

Accomplished NBI form will be processed with a payment fee of $45.00 AUD, cash only.

The form will be signed by the Consul and released within 15 to 20 minutes along with instructions in submitting the completed NBI Form to NBI Manila.

Please take note that: ALL CLEARANCE APPLICATIONS COMING FROM ABROAD ARE PROCESSED ONLY AT NBI MAIN OFFICE IN MANILA.
